About the Department
Department of Tamil was introduced in 1988 as Foundation Tamil for I and II U.G Courses. In 2009 National Testing Service (NTS) was introduced.
Objectives of the Department of Tamil
The Tamil language imparts tradition, Etiquette, and Culture Ethics. Students learn Tamil Language, Grammar, History of Tamil literature, Tamil Emperors, Chera, Chola, Pandya, Pallava and etc., and develop an interest in and appreciation of Literature.
Goals of the Tamil Department
Improving Skills in Communication, Contemplating, and Writing Skills. Guidelines for appearing in Government Exams. The Greatness of Tamil Literature is given to the Students.
Best Practices
- Literary Competition like Essay writing competitions, oratorical competitions, Poetry competitions and Quiz competitions are conducted regularly
Future Plans
- In the future B.A. Tamil Literature Course is Going to be introduced.
- A Special program for TNPSC Group Examinations.

International Yoga Day Celebration -2023International Yoga Day was celebrated in our college Seminar hall on 21st June 2023. The special class and Demo organized on Yoga which was taught by Mr. S. Sathiyamoorthy, M.Com., M.Phil., MA (Yoga), Yoga Instructor, Assistant Professor in Commerce, APCAS. He has given the great idea and awareness of the importance of yoga and he also instructed various yoga asanas’ for students and staffs. More than 300 students as well as teaching and non-teaching staffs participated in the yoga program and benefited.
